A resident of the Kharkiv region attempted to smuggle an ancient icon into Poland.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to the State Border Guard Service, on November 11, border guards from the Volyn detachment, in cooperation with customs officers, discovered an icon at the "Yahodyn" checkpoint, which is likely a cultural artifact. It was found while processing a bus traveling from "Kyiv to Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki".
The icon, dated 1880, was being transported by a 37-year-old female passenger from Kharkiv region who was heading to Poland. Customs officials confiscated the item. An expert evaluation will determine whether it holds cultural or historical significance.
