In the Kharkiv region, firefighters extinguished 7 blazes caused by enemy shelling over the course of a week.
As reported by "Dumka," this information was shared during a briefing by Artem Astakhov, head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.
According to him, from January 13 to 19, emergency service personnel responded to 162 emergency calls, extinguishing 70 fires, 7 of which were due to Russian shelling. Fires occurred in the Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, and Kharkiv districts of the region.
As a result of the fires, 6 people lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries. Emergency service workers rescued 3 individuals.
Additionally, last week, a civilian was injured by an explosive device. In the village of Basove, on January 19, a man riding a bicycle hit a mine. He was hospitalized with a leg injury.
"In Chuhuiv on January 13, a child born in 2023 was injured as a result of a drone strike near a 5-story residential building. The windows of the building and 5 cars were damaged. On January 16, the enemy shelled the Slobidsky district of Kharkiv with a drone. The shell hit the roadway, resulting in injuries to three civilians. On the night of January 19, the enemy launched guided bombs at the village of Zolochiv. Two private houses and two outbuildings were destroyed. Two people were injured: a woman born in 1937 and a 14-year-old girl," reported Artem Astakhov.
Furthermore, five people died in domestic fires. In the village of Borovaya, Izium district, a fire covering 70 square meters broke out in a private home, resulting in the deaths of two men.
In the village of Slobozhanske, Chuhuiv district, a fire occurred in an apartment of a 4-story building. Firefighters discovered the body of a woman born in 1937.
In a private home in the village of Blyznets, household items burned in the kitchen, along with the ceiling and floors of the house, leading to the death of an 88-year-old woman.
Another fire broke out in Kharkiv due to a short circuit in the electrical wiring. In the premises, rescuers found the body of a woman born in 1969.
