In the Kharkiv region, a poacher illegally caught fish worth over 172,000 UAH.

In Kharkiv region, a poacher was found who caused damage to Ukraine's fishery amounting to over 172 thousand UAH.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Fish Protection Patrol, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the inspectors, on December 3rd at around 19:30, near a nameless pond close to the village of Blahodatne in the Chuhuiv district, the patrol spotted a man fishing with two nets made of forest material.

As a result, the fisherman caught the following fish: 98 roach, 5 silver crucian carp, and one specimen each of carp, pike perch, and grass carp. The total weight of the illegally caught aquatic bioresources amounted to 29.44 kg.

A protocol was drawn up under part 4 of Article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

The damages inflicted on Ukraine's fishery are estimated at 172,108 UAH. The prohibited fishing gear and the illegally caught aquatic bioresources were confiscated.

In this regard, the question of entering information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under part 1 of Article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved.

The Kharkiv Fish Protection Patrol urges citizens to comply with the requirements of current environmental protection legislation.
