In Kharkiv, during the night of October 29, the occupiers used a hybrid of a missile and an aerial bomb – the "Grom-E1" munition – while shelling residential buildings in the Osnoviansky district.
This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov on his Telegram channel, as conveyed by "Dumka".
The mayor specified that the shelling of residential areas in Kharkiv on the night of October 29 involved the hybrid munition "Grom-E1".
"At 2:51 AM, a strike was carried out on the city using the hybrid missile 'Grom-E1'. It hit a private house in the Osnoviansky district. The result – 1 house completely destroyed, 19 others damaged. Four people were killed. Rescuers searched for them under the rubble for several hours," Terekhov wrote.
The mayor emphasized that in recent days, the enemy has focused specifically on "terrorist strikes against Kharkiv – targeting residential buildings, our historical monuments, and symbols of the city, such as 'Hospodar'."
Terekhov urged residents to be very cautious and not to ignore air raid alerts.
Note: "Grom" is a rocket-bomb armament system developed by the Russian corporation "Tactical Missile Armament". It was first showcased at the MAKS-2015 international air show.
The "Grom" munitions feature a modular design and are standardized among themselves. The main difference between the "Grom-E1" and "Grom-E2" munitions is the use of a rocket engine in the tail section of the fuselage.
The cruise bomb-missile "Grom-E1" has a fragmentary-explosive modular combat unit (MCU) type 9-Zh1-7759, weighing 315 kg with a contact fuse. After being dropped, the launch rocket engine activates, and after a while, the cruise rocket engine begins to operate. The missile-bomb can descend on its target at a steep angle.
Recall that on the evening of October 28, the occupiers dropped a guided aerial bomb on the Hospodar building. As a result of the explosion, 9 people were injured.
On the night of October 29, the occupiers struck the Osnoviansky district of Kharkiv, killing four people.
