This year, the government plans to build and renovate 15 significant hospitals across 12 regions: Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Sumy, Kherson, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi. Among the projects is an underground hospital, as well as oncology and rehabilitation centers. Additionally, there are plans to restore the children's hospital "Okhmatdyt" in Kyiv, which was struck by a missile from Russia last summer.
This was announced by the head of the "Servant of the People" party, MP Olena Shuliak, as reported by "Dumka".
"Modern, accessible, and high-quality – this is the type of healthcare that the team of President Volodymyr Zelensky is creating in Ukraine. A large mechanism that operates smoothly at all levels: from a clinic in a village to a specialized hospital in a regional center. Every Ukrainian, whether living in a city, a remote village, or a frontline region, should be confident that they can take care of their health," notes Olena Shuliak.
She adds that millions of hryvnias are being invested this year by the government in collaboration with international partners for the purchase of new and advanced medical equipment.
"During the war, over 950 medical facilities have been fully or partially restored. More than 100,000 units of equipment and medical devices have been transferred to medical institutions. This is a tangible and visible result of the efforts of the large team of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. The "Servant of the People" party, as well as our deputies in parliament and local councils, will continue to support all decisions that help protect the health of all Ukrainians, especially our veterans and defenders, for whom the government is expanding existing support programs and introducing new ones, including in the medical field," summarizes Olena Shuliak.
Recall that, as previously reported, starting in March, the prices of medications in Ukraine will decrease. The cost of the hundred most popular drugs will drop by 30%, while all other medications will see a 20% price reduction. At the same time, this year has witnessed the largest expansion of the "Affordable Medicines" program. Fifty new medications have been added to the program, enabling an additional 500,000 Ukrainians to significantly reduce their medical expenses. All these measures are being implemented at the direction of President Zelensky to support the financial resilience of Ukrainian families and provide them with more opportunities to care for their health.
