The head of the criminal investigation department in Kupiansk was working for Russia, according to the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR).

A former police officer from Kupiansk is accused of collaborating with the occupiers.

In Kupiansk, a former law enforcement officer is facing charges of treason and collaboration for cooperating with Russian occupiers.

This information was shared with the publication "Dumka" by the spokesperson of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Poltava, Oleksandr Belka.

According to Belka, the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation have completed their investigation into the former law enforcement officer from Kupiansk, who worked for Russian forces during the occupation of the area. After the city was captured, he voluntarily handed over documents of the Ukrainian police to the invaders and agreed to cooperate.

Initially, the man held the position of head of one of the departments of the occupation police, and later led the criminal investigation department. For his service to the enemy, he received a monthly salary of about 70,000 rubles, for which he regularly signed Russian payment documents.

After Kupiansk was liberated by Ukrainian forces, the former police officer fled along with Russian military personnel. He is now charged with treason and collaboration under part 2 of Article 111 and part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment has already been submitted to the court.
