A resident of Lozova fatally beat his father with a chair, according to the prosecutor's office.

In Lozova, Kharkiv region, a man in an aggressive state struck his father more than 20 times with a chair, leading to the father's death.

This was reported by the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to prosecutors, the court in Lozova reviewed a case that shocked the entire community. A 29-year-old local resident has been sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison for a serious crime against his own father.

The incident occurred on October 31, 2024. In the evening, another conflict arose between the father and son in their shared home. According to the investigation, the son, who had previous legal issues, grabbed a chair and hit his father at least 20 times in the head. Afterward, the man calmly went to bed.

The 75-year-old father managed to reach his daughter-in-law's house, which was nearby, but succumbed to his injuries before medical personnel arrived.

During the trial, the accused admitted his guilt, explaining his actions as a reaction to long-standing insults.
