A poacher was caught with a significant catch on the river in Kharkiv.
This was reported by the Kharkiv fish protection patrol, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to the patrol, yesterday, February 19, during a scheduled raid, specialists observed a man fishing with prohibited "Kosyinka" nets on the Kharkiv River.
The fisherman had about a dozen of these "Kosyinka" nets. With them, he managed to catch 41 crucians, six pike-perches, three perches, and two breams.
The total weight of the illegally caught fish amounts to 20.45 kg. The damage inflicted on Ukraine's fish economy is estimated at 99,127 UAH.
The patrol seized the fishing gear, an ice drill, and the fish on-site. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the man under part 4 of article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. This incident has been recorded in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under part 1 of article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
