Residents of Kharkiv secured top spots in the national freestyle wrestling competitions.

Young athletes from Kharkiv secured a set of medals in the national wrestling championships.

This was reported by the Telegram channel KHARKIV SPORT CITY, as conveyed by "Dumka".

It is noted that the Ukrainian championship in freestyle wrestling for boys and girls U13 took place from November 6 to 10 in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Approximately 500 athletes from all regions of Ukraine participated in the competition.

Overall, the Kharkiv team earned one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. In the boys' competition in the weight category up to 73 kg, the champion was Borimir Kotlyar. He defeated his opponent from Dnipropetrovsk region in the final.

At the same time, Nikas Parfenov became the silver medalist in the weight category up to 85 kg. He successfully reached the final but lost to Ivan Hrydin from Poltava in the battle for gold. Ruslan Kasyanov secured third place in the weight category up to 29 kg.
