Guards shared how a captured KrAZ was transformed into an all-terrain vehicle with a crane to support the defense of Kharkiv region.

The guards of the Slobozhansk Brigade have transformed a captured KRAZ-255 fuel tanker into a multifunctional cargo vehicle with a crane-manipulator for the Kharkiv region.

This was reported by the communication group of the 5th Slobozhansk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the brigade, the captured enemy equipment continues to serve the defense of Ukraine. One such example is the modified KRAZ-255, which is now part of the 5th Slobozhansk Brigade "Scythian" of the National Guard of Ukraine.

"This is an all-terrain vehicle with a 6x6 wheel configuration. We captured it back in the autumn of 2022. Initially, it was a fuel tanker, but the tank was damaged in combat. Therefore, we decided to convert the vehicle into a cargo truck with a crane-manipulator," said the guard known by the call sign Bumer.

A modern Ukrainian HD-88 crane-manipulator, manufactured in the Vinnytsia region, has been installed on the KRAZ, while the multifunctional body was created in Kharkiv. The command supported the project, allowing for a swift implementation of the idea.

Now, this all-terrain manipulator is actively engaged in construction work to strengthen the defense borders of the Kharkiv region. "The vehicle withstands all loads and demonstrates how captured equipment can be used effectively," added Bumer.
