In the Kharkiv region, the enemy made a planned attempt to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces near Kupiansk, deploying around 10 units of armored vehicles and infantry.

This was stated in a comment to the "Dumka" correspondent by the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov.

He noted that on December 4, the attempt to break through in Kupiansk was not made by a sabotage and reconnaissance group; these actions by the enemy were an organized assault on the defense positions.

"This was not a sabotage and reconnaissance group. It was a significantly more massive attempt. There were over 10 units of heavy armored vehicles, including tanks and armored personnel carriers. Our troops engaged in battle, particularly the 14th brigade. Enemy equipment was destroyed, and the infantry effectively scattered afterward. This was a prepared plan because initially, they deployed small groups of infantry to accumulate in the area. Approximately 30 personnel gathered in the forests. Subsequently, the infantry accompanied the tanks on armored personnel carriers. This was a real attempt to breach our defenses and seize territory, creating conditions for a foothold," Synegubov said.

He added that the goal of this assault was focused on the city of Kupiansk, but the enemy was unable to reach the settlement.

"The objective was the city of Kupiansk. However, they did not reach Kupiansk. The equipment was destroyed, and one or two tanks managed to escape. The infantry is currently being eliminated, so to speak," the head of the OVA summarized.

Recall that on December 4, the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov, reported that Russian infantry and 15 units of enemy equipment attempted to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kupiansk region.

In turn, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalенко, reported that the occupying army made an attempt to break through to Kupiansk on December 4. The hostile infantry and equipment involved in the assault were destroyed by the Defense Forces. "Currently, the enemy is generally making such assaults on the front, trying to break into residential areas or on the outskirts, to deploy a landing and establish a foothold for reinforcements. Our soldiers performed well today," Kovalенко stated.
