In the early hours of December 25, Russian occupying forces launched a massive missile strike on Ukrainian territory, specifically using "Kalibr" cruise missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force reported the launches of this type of missile.
"Launches of 'Kalibr' cruise missiles from the Black Sea have been recorded!" — the message stated.
Fifteen minutes later, an air raid alert was declared across all of Ukraine.
By around 6 AM, the first explosions were heard in Kharkiv.
The mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, stated that the city is under heavy missile fire.
"A series of explosions have rocked the city, and there are still ballistic strikes aimed at it. Please stay in safe places," — the message read.
The chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Sinegubov, noted that the occupying forces struck Kharkiv at least seven times.
"After the enemy strikes, several fires broke out, and there is damage to civilian non-residential infrastructure," — wrote Sinegubov.
He specified that one of the impacts was recorded in the Saltivka district of Kharkiv. Later, he reported that a 39-year-old civilian man was injured.
Igor Terekhov noted that two more individuals are in serious condition in the same Saltivka district.
At 7 AM, explosions were also heard in Dnipro.
Subsequently, a series of new explosions echoed one after another in Kremenchuk.
At the same time, NEC "Ukrenergo" reported that due to the Russian attack, power outage schedules were implemented in Ukraine.
"In connection with the large-scale missile attack — measures to limit consumption have been applied," — the message stated.
Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, noted that the enemy is heavily attacking the energy sector.
"The transmission system operator is taking necessary measures to limit consumption to minimize negative consequences for the energy system," — Halushchenko wrote.
