On the night of January 21, a massive drone attack occurred across six Russian regions. Russian media reported explosions in several cities and published footage of fires at businesses and residential buildings.

According to Russian sources, several drones targeted an oil depot in the Liski district of the Voronezh region on the evening of January 20. There are no reports of casualties. Russian media speculate that the facility was attacked by a 2.5-meter kamikaze drone named "Bobr," which has a flight time of 7 hours and a range of 1,000 km.

The governor of Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, also reported a new fire resulting from the "fall of a drone" at the oil depot in the city of Liski, which had previously been attacked by Ukrainian drones on the evening of January 15. The depot stores fuel to meet the needs of the occupying army.

Smolensk also suffered from the strike of attack drones. The first explosion was heard by residents around 00:20 on January 21, with a second occurring at 00:40. According to eyewitnesses, one of the drones crashed into the roof of a residential building, causing a fire that affected at least six floors. Another drone reportedly fell near a clinical hospital at 1:35. Around 2 AM, locals complained about power and water outages in several high-rise buildings.

Russian journalists noted that the initial target of the attack was the Smolensk Aviation Plant.

The governor of Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, stated that the drone attack was repelled, and fires broke out on the roofs of several houses due to falling debris.

The strike on the Smolensk Aviation Plant was confirmed by the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, Andrei Kovalenko. He emphasized that this plant produces, repairs, services, and upgrades Russian military aircraft, particularly the Su-25 attack planes. The facility plays a significant role in the aggressor country's defense complex, supplying components to other enterprises and participating in cooperations for the development of modern aviation systems.

"Every strike on such a plant will undermine Russia's ability to maintain its aviation in a combat-ready state," Kovalenko stated.

Residents of Rostov, Saratov, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions also reported explosions during the night. Additionally, the "Carpet" plan was implemented at Kazan airport due to the threat of a drone attack.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that 55 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight, with 22 of them downed over Bryansk region.

It is worth reminding that on January 20, media reported that Russian bloggers were complaining about the vulnerability to drone attacks of Russia's air defense systems.

On the night of January 20, Ukrainian drones attacked the aviation plant in Kazan, where Tu-160 and Tu-22M3M/Tu-22M3 bombers are produced and repaired.
