Известной итальянской блогерше грозит пять лет тюрьмы: что произошло?

The 37-year-old popular Italian blogger Chiara Ferragni could face five years in prison. This is reported by Daily Mail.

The social media star and businesswoman is suspected of fraud. She sold a limited edition of Christmas pandoro cakes and allegedly deceived her customers.

Back in December 2023, the Italian competition watchdog AGCM fined Ferragni over one million euros. The investigation revealed that people purchased pandoro from the blogger believing they were making a charitable donation to a children's hospital. However, it turned out to be a deception.

Pandoro is an alternative to the well-known panettone cake. Chiara Ferragni's sweets were sold for 9 euros, which was more than double their usual price from the dessert manufacturer.

AGCM also fined the cake manufacturer Balocco 420,000 euros. According to the investigation, the manufacturer made a one-time payment of 50,000 euros to the hospital a few months before the launch of the Pandoro Pink Christmas brand, so the cake sales did not impact charitable donations.

Meanwhile, consumers believed they were helping to acquire a new device for the therapeutic treatment of seriously ill children.

Chiara Ferragni allegedly did not make any personal payments to the medical institution, while her companies received one million euros from Balocco.

The businesswoman is awaiting trial. She could be sentenced to five years. The first hearing is scheduled for September 23, 2025.

Chiara herself denies the allegations.

"I chose silence these past months to try to protect myself and my family," she wrote in an Instagram story.

The blogger noted that she will do everything in her power to prove her innocence.

Let us remind you that Chiara Ferragni became a mother in 2021.
