Spring is nearly here: weather forecast for Ukraine on January 8 and the upcoming days.

Warm weather in Ukraine is expected to last until the weekend, with temperatures reaching up to +14 degrees in some areas. This sudden rise in temperature will lead to increased water levels in rivers and pose a risk of avalanches in the western regions.

On January 8 and in the following days, warm weather is expected in Ukraine. In the southern regions, temperatures will rise to +14 degrees, forecasts meteorologist Natalia Didenko.

During the day on January 8, temperatures will range from +4 to +9 degrees. It will be even warmer in the west, reaching +9…+11 in some places, +7…+12 degrees in the central regions, and up to +14 degrees in the south.

On Wednesday, dry weather is anticipated across Ukraine, with precipitation expected only in the Carpathians. In the evening, rain will fall in some areas, accompanied by wet snow in the west and north of Ukraine. From the night of January 8 to 9, rain will occur in the western regions, with wet snow closer to the Carpathians.

In Kyiv, warm weather is expected, with temperatures rising to +7 degrees during the day on January 8. The Kyiv region will be cloudy with some clear spells, and light rain may occur during the day. Winds will be from the southwest at 7 to 12 m/s.

According to forecasts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on January 8, Ukraine will experience cloudy weather with clear spells. In the western regions, and in some northern areas in the morning and during the day, as well as in most central regions and Kharkiv, light rain is expected. At night, moderate rain with wet snow is forecasted in Transcarpathia and the Carpathians.

In the western regions, there may be icy conditions on the roads. Winds will be from the south and southwest at 7-12 m/s, with gusts of 15-20 m/s in the Carpathians, during the day in Crimea and the Azov region.

Due to the warming, on January 8-9, a rise in water levels in the rivers of western Ukraine is expected to reach up to one and a half meters above normal levels, without the risk of negative consequences. In the high-altitude areas of Ivano-Frankivsk and the eastern part of Transcarpathia, a significant avalanche danger is forecasted due to the thaw.

On January 9, winds will blow from the southwest, with strong gusts expected. From January 9 to 10, warm weather will persist in Ukraine, but it will turn colder from January 11. However, forecasters do not expect severe frosts: at night, "slight minus" temperatures are predicted, while daytime temperatures will range from -2 to +3 degrees.

We remind you that for the first time in 50 years, snow has fallen and frosts have arrived in Morocco. In the central, southeastern, and southern regions, temperatures have dropped to -1 degree.
