In the Odessa region, two girls aged 3 and 5 years, along with their 7-year-old brother, were poisoned by an unknown substance. The tragedy occurred at home while their 30-year-old mother was engaged in household chores, the police of the region reported.
The woman initially noticed that her children were in serious condition after consuming the substance and called for an ambulance. Medical personnel arrived, diagnosed poisoning from an unknown substance, and attempted to save the children, but it was already too late.
Subsequently, law enforcement was called, and investigators recorded the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under paragraph 2 of part 2 of Article 115 with the note "accident," Article 166 (Grossly negligent performance of duties for the care of a child or a person under guardianship or custody), and part 1 of Article 321 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, transportation, shipment, storage with the intent to sell, or sale of toxic or potent substances/drugs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The police are still determining all the circumstances surrounding the children's deaths. Further details of the incident remain unknown.
