In the Kharkiv region, authorities apprehended a driver found in possession of weapons and drugs.

A driver with weapons and drugs has been found in Chuhuiv.

This was reported by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the police, on the night of January 2 to 3, during an inspection of a VAZ vehicle, an item resembling an AK-47 automatic weapon was discovered among the belongings of a 48-year-old man, without the necessary permit. In particular, packages containing the psychoactive substance PVP were found. The evidence has been seized and sent for analysis.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, military supplies, or explosive substances) and Part 1 of Article 309 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or mailing of narcotic drugs, psychoactive substances, or their analogs without the intent to sell) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offender faces up to seven years in prison.
