В Харькове задержали злоумышленника, который создал схему побега за границу для уклонистов от мобилизации.

A criminal who organized escape deals for "draft dodgers" has been apprehended in Kharkiv.

This was reported by the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the prosecutor's office, a Kharkiv resident assisted men of conscription age in leaving the country. He offered to arrange military registration documents and secure membership in the Ukrainian Karate Federation. This allowed the men to depart Ukraine as part of a sports team.

The perpetrator claimed to have influence over representatives of the TCK and the sports organization. For his services, he demanded around $5,500, requesting an advance payment of $4,000.

During meetings with "clients", the organizer did not appear himself but sent an acquaintance, a former police officer, to collect the money. Law enforcement officers caught the intermediary while receiving the funds.

Subsequently, law enforcement also uncovered the 46-year-old organizer and issued a suspicion of obtaining illegal benefits for himself by influencing a decision made by a person authorized to perform state functions, associated with the demand for such benefit (part 3 of article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The man faces a prison sentence of three to eight years, along with the confiscation of property.

Currently, other participants in the criminal scheme are being identified. The investigation is ongoing.
