A resident of Kharkiv, who stole cosmetic products worth over 1,000 UAH, was sentenced to eight years in prison.
This information was reported to "Dumka" from the verdict of the Kyiv District Court of Kharkiv.
In Kharkiv, a man who attempted to steal cosmetics from the "Eva" store on Akademika Proskura Street received an 8-year prison sentence. The incident occurred on June 4, 2024, when the accused decided to discreetly take six aftershave balms worth a total of 1,067 UAH from the shelves while in the store.
The man passed by the cash register, but his actions were noticed by a cashier who ran out of the store, demanding he return the items. However, the perpetrator, realizing he had been caught, fled the scene. He hid part of the stolen goods in a bush, but was soon apprehended by the police, who recovered the items.
During the trial, the accused initially admitted his guilt, explaining that he intended to sell the products to provide himself with food and necessary items. He mentioned that he could not serve in the Armed Forces due to his health condition.
The Kyiv District Court of Kharkiv found the man guilty of open theft, as stipulated in part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and sentenced him to eight years of imprisonment.
