Mass fish die-off reported in Kharkiv: Here's what we know.

A case of fish suffocation has been reported at a lake in the Industrial District of Kharkiv.

This information was provided by the Kharkiv Fish Protection Patrol, as reported by "Dumka".

According to the patrol, on November 18, state inspectors documented the death of fish at Lake Koldyban, located near Molodyozhnaya Street in the Industrial District.

Experts counted 15 dead fish, including 14 silver carp and one common carp.

"The deceased fish were concentrated in the upper part of the lake, and the water has a sharp unpleasant odor, which may indicate the presence of chemical substances in the water," the report states.

The administration has informed the relevant services.

Additionally, specialists have preliminarily estimated the damage caused to Ukraine's fisheries due to the death of aquatic bioresources. The estimated amount is 54,638 UAH.
