A local resident in Kharkiv has been charged with theft.
This was reported by the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to the police, at the railway station, the perpetrator asked a woman for a mobile phone to make a call. However, after receiving it, he simply disappeared.
It is known that in October, a resident of the Osnoviansky district contacted the police. She reported that an unknown man approached her at the railway station, requested a mobile phone for an urgent call, and then fled.
The police identified the perpetrator. He turned out to be a 40-year-old man with a previous conviction for a similar crime. The offender caused 5,000 UAH in damages.
An investigation has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Fraud). He faces a sentence of up to three years in prison. The suspect has been informed of the charges against him.
