It has been revealed how often drivers are fined in the Kharkiv region, according to police data.

In the first nine months of 2024, Ukraine recorded over 3.2 million traffic violations, marking a record high for the past five years.

This information was reported on the website of the analytical service "Opendatabot," referencing the Patrol Police Department, as conveyed by "Dumka."

According to the patrol police, during the first nine months of 2024, automated cameras detected more than 3.2 million violations, which is 1.7 times higher than in the same period last year. 99% of these cases are related to speeding.

The country has 308 automated cameras operating across 19 regions and in Kyiv. The highest number of such devices is found in Lviv region (44), Kyiv (30), and Kyiv region (32). In Kharkiv and other areas adjacent to conflict zones, automated cameras are currently not operational.

Despite this, in Kharkiv region, the police issued 91,767 citations for traffic violations, allowing the region to secure an average position in the nationwide ranking. The leaders in terms of fines were Lviv region (220,161 citations), Kyiv (180,719), and Odesa region (134,836). The fewest fines were issued in Kherson region, totaling just 2,869.

Overall, police issued citations for various violations more than 2 million times across the country. The record numbers from automated enforcement highlight the effectiveness of advanced technologies and the need for increased engagement with drivers to improve road safety.
