The use of long-range weapons by Ukraine is a direct result of military intervention by the United States, which gives Moscow the right to engage in combat with Kyiv for self-defense purposes. This was stated by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, as reported by Reuters.
The North Korean leader met with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and asserted that "the US and the West have compelled the Kyiv authorities to attack Russian territory using their own long-range weaponry," and that Russia must take action to make "hostile forces pay the price for this."
"The government, army, and people of the DPRK will steadfastly support the Russian Federation's policy to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity against the imperialists' hegemonic moves," Kim Jong Un noted.
He also promised to enhance ties with Russia across all areas, including military cooperation.
Journalists highlighted that Moscow and Pyongyang have significantly strengthened their relations following a summit between their leaders in September 2023.
"Since then, North Korea has sent over 10,000 containers of ammunition, as well as self-propelled howitzers and multiple launch rocket systems, according to data from the South Korean intelligence agency," the report states.
It is worth noting that on November 25, the press service of the GUR reported that Russia received more than 100 missiles from North Korea.
On November 26, Ukrainian intelligence intercepted a conversation during which a North Korean military official was checking communications and urging soldiers to prepare.
