Unlucky times: Forbes reported on the "adventures" of Russia's 810th brigade, which has faced explosions and destruction on two occasions.

Ukraine has the capability to consistently target Russian command centers in the Kursk region, noted Forbes. In particular, the command posts of the 810th Marine Brigade of Russia could be struck using both air-launched missiles and Western-made glide bombs.
Forbes поведал о "приключениях" 810-й бригады РФ, которая дважды подвергалась взрывам и уничтожению. Удача явно не на их стороне.

The Russian command is actively deploying the 810th Marine Brigade to push the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) out of the Kursk region. The brigade, however, is suffering as its headquarters are being struck by unknown munitions from the Defense Forces. For instance, within the first week of 2025, there were two such strikes, and one in December 2024. Forbes reported on the condition of the Russian Armed Forces unit that has been unsuccessfully fighting near Kursk for the second consecutive month.

The publication analyzed the participation of 2,500 soldiers from the 810th Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces in battles in the Kursk region. In recent months, Ukrainian munitions have struck the brigade's headquarters three times, with two incidents occurring in January 2025. The first incident took place in Lgov on Christmas Day in 2024, when a strike hit the command post in an uninhabited area (70 km from the border). The second incident was a hit on the headquarters in Ivanovskoye on January 3 (50 km from the border). The third incident was confirmed by the Defense Forces command on the evening of January 7. Ukrainians reported hitting the headquarters located in the village of Beloye (east of Sudzha, 29 km from the border). Additionally, Forbes shared details about unsuccessful attacks involving soldiers from the 810th brigade of the Russian Armed Forces near the village of Pogrebki (the northern bulge of the Kursk front) and Plekhovo (to the east). Notably, near Pogrebki, since November, the Russians deployed two battalions from the "damaged brigade," which collectively lost 400 personnel.

"The affected brigade, one of the main units in Russia's two-month counteroffensive in the Kursk region of western Russia, simply cannot catch a break," the publication explained.

The article clarifies that the 810th brigade, along with the "tragic 155th Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces," has been engaged in combat for the second consecutive month. The unit is exhausted as it has been involved in "unsuccessful assaults" throughout these two months. Furthermore, it was noted that it remains unclear what exactly the Ukrainians are using to strike the headquarters. This uncertainty stems from the diverse arsenal available to the AFU for targeting objects in the Kursk region: including HIMARS rocket systems, precision-guided aerial bombs (French or American), cruise missiles (French and British), and drones.

"After thirty-five months of full-scale war by Russia against Ukraine, Ukraine possesses a complete set of deep strike weaponry," Forbes explained the capabilities of the Ukrainians to target the 810th brigade.

AFU Offensive — Events in the Kursk Region

It should be noted that the AFU launched a new offensive in the Kursk region on January 5-6, as confirmed by the Office of President Zelensky. Initial reports from analysts at the Institute for the Study of War highlighted three directions of attacks around Sudzha. Later, Russian military bloggers acknowledged that the Defense Forces had advanced to the southern outskirts of the village of Berdin and reached the centers of the villages of Novosotnitskoye and Novocherkasskoye.

We remind you that on January 6, Forbes reported on the fighting in the fields near Berdin and the innovative use of wheels on Stryker armored personnel carriers.
