В Харьковской области осудили бригадира железной дороги за передачу топлива российской армии.

In Kharkiv region, prosecutors successfully upheld the sentence against a former railway foreman who supplied fuel to the Russian army during the occupation of Kupiansk.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the prosecutor's office, prior to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the man worked there as a foreman, and under the occupiers, he became the "head of the fuel and lubricants base of the production unit of the Kupiansk Locomotive Depot" of the state enterprise "Kupiansk Railway".

During the city's occupation, the newly appointed "head" directly supplied fuel and lubricants stored on the company's premises to the occupiers.

Given the company's location at a short distance from the combat zone, this activity allowed representatives of the Russian Armed Forces to conceal fuel from detection by the UAV reconnaissance units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and quickly resolve logistical issues for delivering fuel to the combat zone to strengthen the occupiers' positions.

It has been established that only at the end of July 2022, the "head" supplied the occupiers with more than 120,000 liters of diesel fuel.

For his collaboration, the enemy accomplice received a salary in Russian rubles.

In early March 2023, law enforcement exposed the accomplice of the occupiers and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Before the verdict was issued, the man was held in custody.

During the court hearing, he did not admit his guilt and claimed that he worked under threats. However, the evidence provided by the prosecution and the testimonies of witnesses objectively confirmed the voluntary nature of the defendant's actions.

The defense, disagreeing with the verdict of the Chervonozavodsky District Court of Kharkiv, appealed it in an appellate procedure.

The Kharkiv Appellate Court supported the prosecution's position and upheld the verdict of the first instance court.

The 42-year-old man was found guilty of aiding a state aggressor (Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, with a prohibition on holding positions related to the performance of state functions, local self-government, and positions in state railway enterprises in Ukraine for a period of 12 years, along with the confiscation of property.
