A California resident named Evan, who enjoys scavenging in dumps, recently found an 18-carat gold Cartier necklace. He shared this discovery on the popular Reddit forum.

The American made this unexpected find during his latest "diving" expedition into trash bins.

Evan developed a passion for this unusual hobby in his childhood when he explored landfills with his cousin near the apartment complex where his grandmother lived. Over time, this evolved into a passion for finding valuable items. According to him, "dump diving" is as thrilling as gambling, though it does not guarantee a steady income.

"It's fun, and that's why I do it," Evan states.

When he stumbled upon the gold chain among the discarded items, Evan immediately recognized it as a potentially valuable piece and later confirmed that the necklace was indeed a genuine Cartier product. Such discoveries are not uncommon for him—he has previously found 14-carat rings, earrings, and bracelets.

"On eBay, pendants without chains sell for prices ranging from $700 to $900. If it comes with a chain, then probably from $1,900 to $3,200. The story might be different for used ones," he mentioned.

Evan speculates that the necklace may have been thrown away in a fit of anger, perhaps after a breakup.

Despite the necklace generating a lot of interest, Evan does not consider it his best find. He also encourages others to try this hobby while maintaining cleanliness and avoiding confrontations with property owners.

"I'm not harming anyone; it's just my little pleasure," he added.

It was also reported that a mysterious will from 164 years ago was found in an abandoned house. Luca Gouri-Smith, while exploring a family mansion, stumbled upon the unique document among old photographs in the attic. The man decided to investigate the mysterious will to uncover his family's history.
