In Kharkiv, a 50-year-old associate professor has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for espionage and aiding Russian military forces.
This information was provided to the publication "Dumka" by the press secretary of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, Vladislav Abdula.
According to Abdula, a university lecturer in Kharkiv was sentenced to 15 years in prison for collaborating with Russian military intelligence. The traitor, aged 50, collected data on the positions of Ukrainian troops, their movement routes, and ammunition depots, while also relaying information about the aftermath of Russian attacks. He sent this information to his handler via messenger, utilizing text messages and notes on Google Maps.
The associate professor began working for the occupiers after the onset of the full-scale invasion. His role was to assist in planning and adjusting new shelling in Kharkiv.
The Security Service of Ukraine apprehended the man at the end of 2023 in his apartment in Kharkiv.
