The platoon commander from the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade received an award for destroying an enemy convoy during the battles near Volchansk.
This was reported to "Dumka" by the press service of the Kharkiv Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.
According to the press service, on December 21, 2024, in the vicinity of Volchansk, Lieutenant Bohdan Dankanych from Kharkiv became a key figure in defensive operations. As the commander of the 2nd artillery platoon of the 82nd separate airborne assault brigade, he skillfully managed his artillery battery.
When the enemy advanced, Bohdan organized reconnaissance using drones, which allowed for the timely detection of the enemy's vehicle column. Thanks to the lieutenant's clear commands, the artillery destroyed three lightly armored vehicles and around 30 occupiers. These actions not only halted the enemy's attack but also boosted the morale of the Ukrainian defenders.
Bohdan Dankanych, who began his journey in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2019, currently exemplifies dedication and professionalism. His life and military path is a story of perseverance, starting from his studies at the National Law Academy in Kharkiv to achieving leadership heights in the 82nd brigade.
For outstanding heroism, courage, and resilience in carrying out combat tasks, Bohdan Dankanych was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Silver Cross."
