In Kharkiv, a soldier who assaulted his wife was fined 850 UAH for hitting her in the ribs and head.

In Kharkiv, a serviceman from Mykolaiv Oblast has been found guilty of domestic violence and sentenced to a fine of 850 UAH.

This information was reported by "Dumka" based on the verdict of the Lenin District Court of Kharkiv.

According to the registry, the serviceman, who is a commander of an infantry platoon from Mykolaiv Oblast, will face legal consequences for domestic violence. The incident occurred on August 20, 2024, during a personal conflict with his wife, when the man struck her multiple times in their own apartment.

"During the conflict, the man, acting with direct intent to inflict bodily harm, based on suddenly arisen personal animosities, aimed to cause health damage, fully aware of the consequences in the form of bodily injuries and desiring their occurrence, at close range, struck his wife once on the left temple with the palm of his right hand, causing her to lose balance and hit her right forehead against the door. He then delivered one blow with the palm of his right hand to the left side of her chest. After this strike, the victim stepped back and broke the glass of the door with her left elbow, resulting in scratches on her left elbow," the verdict states.

According to the case materials, the victim sustained minor bodily injuries: bruises on her body, abrasions on her elbow, and other insignificant injuries. A forensic medical examination confirmed that the effects of the injuries were temporary and did not exceed six days.

The Lenin District Court of Kharkiv found the serviceman guilty of committing a criminal offense as provided by part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to a fine of 850 UAH.
