An artist has utilized AI to create a remarkably realistic image of the Virgin Mary, depicting her as a teenager with long black hair, brown eyes, and a darker complexion, reports DailyMail.

The face of Our Lady of Guadalupe was reconstructed by Mexican artist Miguel Ángel Omanña Rojas. The AI technology spent weeks analyzing images of Mary, meticulously studying every detail of her appearance.

The creator of the reconstruction states that the results of his work allow us to "finally see what the most famous woman looked like in real life."

Although Mary was from the Middle East, her appearance was altered to align more closely with a European ideal.

"Mary is a symbol of justice. Today, her image embodies those who stand against oppression," says writer Pat Mora.

Christians believe that the image of Mary miraculously appeared on the cloak of Aztec Juan Diego, who converted to Christianity. This relic is still on public display at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The latest reconstruction of the Virgin Mary's face was based on this image.

The artificial intelligence system was able to identify key facial features of Mary, such as facial structure, skin tone, and more, to recreate a realistic photograph. Subsequently, the AI employed preliminary models trained on extensive datasets of human faces and body data.

The author of the reconstruction utilized a database containing real human traits, allowing the AI to find matches before synthesizing a realistic image.

In the end, realistic textures were added to Mary's skin and hair, bringing the image to life.

"This is the closest image that artificial intelligence could create," summarized Omanña Rojas.

As a reminder, a reconstruction of the face of a "lonely boy" with an unusual head has been created. Scientists also produced a complete reconstruction of the body of a teenager whose remains were discovered over 100 years ago in a cave in Norway.
