Trump discussed his conversation with Putin, which took place during his presidency. According to the politician, he warned the Russian dictator about the potential consequences of aggression against Ukraine.
“I told Putin: ‘If you decide to attack Ukraine, I will hit you so hard that you can’t even imagine. I will do it right in the center of Moscow,’” claims Trump.
The ex-president noted that he was not only warning Putin but also reminding him that they maintained friendly relations. He added that despite their friendship, he was prepared to take decisive action if Russia began an invasion:
“We are friends, but if I have no choice, I will deliver that blow.”
Trump also explained that in response to his threats, Putin allegedly promised not to invade Ukraine. The former American leader emphasized that it was his tough stance that kept Russia from aggression during his time in office.
