U.S. President Donald Trump has raised significant concerns among Western analysts with his latest phone call to Vladimir Putin. Bloomberg reports that such actions by the American leader may indicate a shift in Washington's stance towards Ukraine. Following his conversation with the Russian president, Trump announced that both sides agreed to "immediate negotiations" and reciprocal visits.

This information comes from Glavpost, citing Bloomberg.

Since 2022, the United States has actively supported Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia, avoiding direct contact with the Kremlin. However, the Trump administration is displaying a markedly different approach. As noted by Bloomberg, the current position of Washington sharply contrasts with the policies of the Joe Biden administration.

The U.S. President expresses doubts regarding the necessity of ongoing extensive support for Ukraine. According to sources, if additional assistance is provided to Kyiv, Trump intends to demand compensation, such as access to Ukrainian natural resources.

Special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is being involved in the peaceful resolution of the situation and will join the negotiation team alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio. However, there are no guarantees that these initiatives will lead to the end of the conflict.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Gage stated during a meeting with NATO representatives that restoring Ukraine to its 2014 borders is an "unrealistic task." At the same time, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky continues to insist on the complete de-occupation of territories, including Crimea.

Amid these developments, Donald Trump confirmed his intention to meet with Vladimir Putin, which could serve as an important signal for a further reassessment of U.S. policy in the region.
