Почему Норвежский совет по делам беженцев прекратил поддержку Украины и что можно ожидать в будущем?
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has announced the suspension of its humanitarian operations in Ukraine, which is part of a broader crisis caused by a reduction in international funding. This decision affects over 57,000 people living near the frontline who have now lost access to essential winter assistance.

This was reported by Glavpost, citing the NRC website.

“This occurs during a critical winter period when access to heat and food is vital,” emphasized NRC, highlighting the severe consequences for the most vulnerable populations.

The crisis was triggered by a sharp adjustment in funding from the United States, prompted by recent changes in the American administration's policy. President Donald Trump signed an order on January 20 to temporarily halt foreign aid programs for 90 days. Under this order, USAID, which was a key sponsor of NRC's humanitarian projects in Ukraine, was instructed to freeze all expenditures and cease current initiatives.

These measures have impacted not only Ukraine but also other countries where NRC provided emergency assistance. According to the organization, due to the lack of funding, staff involved in humanitarian support had to be laid off in nearly 20 countries.
