Who is Rostislav Tronenko, and why did Zelensky appoint him as Ukraine's new ambassador to Mozambique?

Ukraine continues to refresh its diplomatic corps, focusing on strategic regions. President Volodymyr Zelensky has approved a number of new appointments, including the replacement of the ambassador to the Republic of Mozambique. Lyubov Abravitova has been relieved of this position, and Rostyslav Tronenko has taken her place.

Tronenko has become the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Mozambique. Abravitova retains her position as ambassador to the Republic of South Africa. The president noted that the personnel update will strengthen the country's international standing.

Rostyslav Tronenko: professional background

An experienced diplomat, Tronenko was born on March 22, 1962, in Sumy and graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. His career includes key positions such as head of the secretariat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, deputy representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna, as well as ambassador to Portugal and Brazil.

His experience at international summits and proficiency in four languages (Spanish, Portuguese, English, Russian) make him a valuable asset. His appointment to Mozambique will enhance Ukraine's presence on the African continent.
