Earlier, on February 12, Trump had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, after which the start of the negotiation process was announced. However, the absence of representatives from Ukraine and European countries at the meeting drew criticism from Kyiv and leaders of Western nations. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine does not recognize the outcomes of negotiations held without its participation.
Despite Trump's confidence in the successful conclusion of the negotiations, experts express doubts about their effectiveness without the involvement of all interested parties. They emphasize that a long-term peace agreement is only possible when considering the interests of all conflict participants.
