The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sharply responded to American commentator Tucker Carlson, accusing him of spreading Russian propaganda. In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Zelensky emphasized that Carlson distorts the real situation in Ukraine, serving the interests of the Kremlin.

This was reported by Main Post, citing the relevant interview with Zelensky.

According to the Ukrainian leader, Carlson's statements, including accusations of banning the Russian language and persecuting Christian denominations, are not true. Zelensky reminded that the decision to exclude the Moscow Patriarchate from the Council of Churches of Ukraine was made by the religious institutions themselves without any pressure from the authorities.

The president stated directly:

“Carlson should stop working for Putin and better understand what is happening in Ukraine.”

This statement was a response to Carlson's repeated accusations, including his claims that the Ukrainian leadership allegedly acts like a dictatorship.

The controversial figure of American journalism, Tucker Carlson, previously conducted an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin in February 2024. This was the first such conversation Putin had with a Western journalist since the start of the full-scale invasion. During the interview, the Russian leader accused the West of escalating the conflict and presented his vision of events, which triggered sharp criticism.
