The Russian occupation forces continue to show their intentions to increase pressure on the southern regions of Ukraine. Reports from various sources indicate that Moscow plans to intensify offensive actions in both the Zaporizhzhia region and the right-bank part of Kherson.

This is reported by Glavpost, citing politexpert.net.

According to information from several Ukrainian media outlets, the Russian command considers operations on the right bank of the Kherson region as a priority. In November 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had already repelled attempts by Russian sabotage groups near the Antonivskyi Bridge.

To implement these plans, Russia intends to deploy up to 4,000 stormtroopers, including the 61st Marine Brigade and the 7th Air Assault Division, which had previously retreated from Kherson. The operation will be overseen by General Mikhail Teplynsky.

However, the destroyed bridges over the Dnipro complicate crossings, which may be mitigated by frozen sections of the river in winter.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, the main targets for Russia could be the areas of Pyatykhatky and Huliaipole. The offensive along the Dnipro River aims to create an illusion of control to demonstrate success amid the protracted conflict.

Experts acknowledge that, unfortunately, Russia still possesses the capability for new attacks.
