“I have reached out to Zelensky several times, asking him to cease his criticism of Scholz’s actions. I consider such a stance from the Ukrainian leader to be unfair. Germany has done a lot for Ukraine and continues to do so,” Rutte shared his perspective.

However, Rutte noted that if he were in Scholz's position, he would allow the supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine and authorize strikes on Russian territories.
“Such capabilities are very important for Ukraine right now. Thanks to modern weaponry, the Armed Forces of Ukraine can resist the occupiers and strike enemy military targets. Of course, it is not for me to decide how Western countries should act,” Rutte concluded.
