Gravehawk is an innovative solution that stands out for its compactness and flexibility. Comparable in size to a shipping container, the system is designed to upgrade air-to-air missiles for use in ground-based air defense. This is particularly relevant for Ukraine, where such missiles are already in service.
According to the UK government, two prototypes of the system were successfully tested in Ukraine as early as September 2024. The trials confirmed their high effectiveness in real combat conditions. Throughout 2025, Ukraine will receive 15 of these systems, significantly enhancing its protection against aerial threats.
“Gravehawk is not just an innovation; it exemplifies the close cooperation between our countries that contributes to the security of Ukraine and Europe as a whole,” stated a representative of the British defense ministry.
In addition to supplying Gravehawk systems, the UK continues to actively support Ukraine. A transfer of 150 artillery barrels is planned soon as part of a aid package worth approximately $2.6 billion. The funding is sourced from interest on frozen Russian assets.
